Justin Kander

Patient-Reported Outcomes (PRO) Specialist

Justin Kander has been a passionate advocate for cannabis medicine since 2008. His journey began with collecting and analyzing patient reports of cannabis’s potential anticancer effects from videos, forums, and news websites. In 2013, he compiled these findings into his first book, The Comprehensive Report on the Cannabis Extract Movement, which he informally distributed at the 2013 Drug Policy Reform Conference. Building on this foundation, Justin went on to speak at several cannabis and health conferences and authored two additional books: Enhancing Your Endocannabinoid System and Cannabis for the Treatment of Cancer, both published by 2016.

From 2015 to 2020, Justin served at Aunt Zelda’s, a pioneering medical cannabis company known for its high-quality Full Extract Cannabis Oil (FECO) and cannabis-infused olive oils, tailored for cancer patients. At Aunt Zelda’s, he worked closely with hundreds of patients and had interactions with thousands more. His responsibilities included coordinating consultations, creating personalized dosing charts, assisting in product manufacturing, and responding to patient inquiries to support their treatment journeys.

In 2020, prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Justin returned to Maryland and enrolled in the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy’s Medical Cannabis Science & Therapeutics program. He completed his Master’s degree in 2023.

Following graduation, Justin joined Cancer Playbook and Whole Health Oncology Institute, where he now serves as the lead Patient-Reported Outcomes (PRO) Specialist. In this role, he ensures that all patient-reported data is accurately documented, meticulously tagged, and effectively integrated into research and educational content. He also contributes to survey design, Playbook development, and the analysis of patient trends, helping to translate real-world experiences into meaningful insights for the oncology and cannabis communities.
